Power Outage - July 2024
The UW Tacoma campus is experiencing an ongoing power outage preventing remote access into workstations (desktop computers). Workstations cannot be accessed remotely at this time as they are powered down. There is currently no estimated time to service restoration.
Once power is restored, your workstation may require a reboot to reconnect to UW Tacoma resources. If you work remote full time and cannot restart your own workstation, UW Tacoma IT may be able to assist. Please allow up to 48 hours after power has returned for a workstation restart.
Many campus resources, such as the H: and S: drives as well as Keynes and SIS, are still accessible from off-campus on devices using Husky On-Net. The Husky On-Net service is unaffected by this power outage.
Office 365 (email, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.) resources are also unaffected and do not require Husky On-Net for access.
Faculty, Staff, and Students: If you do not have access to a reliable computer or internet access, please send an email to tachelp@uw.edu to request technology. After your technology request has been processed and approved, we'll contact you to schedule a pickup on campus between 9AM - 12PM Monday through Friday.
The IT Helpdesk is available to answer any questions regarding use of technology during this power outage and has set up a Zoom Room for users in lieu of being able to access the Helpdesk in person.
